The First Law of Career Physics

The First Law of Career Physics

Careers are controlled by the same immutable rules that govern the rest of life. They don’t get a pass on the laws of physics.

So, the first law of career physics should be familiar to everyone:
A career in motion stays in motion. At career at rest is over.

Either you’re advancing in your profession, craft or trade or you’re falling behind. And falling behind is now a synonym for “over.” Done. Toast.

How do you keep advancing in your career? You continuously improve the contribution you make on-the-job by adding:
• New skills
• New knowledge
or
• New experience.

Or, to put it another way, you don’t simply show up for work and do what you’ve always done. You reach to do better every single day.

Work Strong,
Peter
